Mycelium is a new way of thinking about politics. Integrating multiple streams of data, it allows bloggers to report on the activities of the House of Commons.
The Video contained and displayed by this application is duplicated from the parlvu feed, and is the copyright of the Speaker of the House. It is my belief that bloggers have just as much right to this information as any other journalists and that this use falls under Canada's fair-dealing provisions for new media news reporting and criticism.
This application is setup to make up to 5 minute slices of house video, and provide a link and embeddable url for use on your blog.
Please note that we attach no additional copyright to the video on this site.
You may embed these videos into your site to be remote loaded up to 50 times. If your site will play these videos more than 50 times, you are REQUIRED to download and mirror the videos. This restriction is purely due to the traffic costs involved.
There is no guarantee any sort of uptime for this application, nor is there any guarantee that the recorder will work every day and properly save the commons stream. Your slices may be removed or disabled without notice for any reason especially including violation of copyright [use outside fair dealing]. We will also disable videos from time to time for using too much bandwidth, or during regular maintenance to free disk space. The priority of this application is to provide the best service for news reporting and thus newer slices will be given disk/transfer priority.
This facility is intended only to excerpt small amounts of material from the daily stream. If you require a full copy of Question Period then you should obtain a live stream through ParlVU or archived copies through the House of Commons. The clips provided by ParlVU and the HoC are of a higher quality than those found on this site and are a far superior resource.
